PowerUP: Forsyth Special Needs Support Group (Forsyth County, Georgia)

We welcome parents/grandparents/caregivers of persons with special needs. We  provide you with a channel to connect to other parents and form a network of resources, ideas and insight. We are here to share with and learn from each other. We are also here to encourage each other. We want you to know the word “HOPE.”


ALL counties are welcome.  ALL disabilities are welcome. Our group has speakers such as special education attorneys, psychologists, motivational speakers, Parent to Parent Speakers, and camp information. Our monthly meetings are held at the Vine Community Church in Cumming. We are not religiously affiliated.

Join our email group and/or closed and private Facebook group by sending a request to: myforsythgroup@gmail.com Join us for monthly meetings at The Vine Community Church in Cumming. (announcements are made through our Facebook page/group, email group, and website) We also have moms’ and dads’ nights out and coffee chats.

Sharon Howell (parent of 18-year-old twins with Autism) and Mary Kathryn McDonald (Speech-Language Pathologist  MA, CCC-SLP) started the Forsyth Autism and Special Needs Support Group in April of 2013.
